Spectral Ice Shack — What Should You Actually Buy?
The value chart is not your first filter — "what am I short of?" is. Ton's shop rules, priorities by spending tier, and why the x5 multiplier quietly wrecks your budget.
Bottom line — The value chart is not your first filter. "What am I short of?" is. Cross-check with Torxim only after that. F2P: Charm Designs + Chief Gear chests. Low/mid spenders: add Charm Guides and Advanced Wild Marks. Big spenders: clear the quantity-capped custom chests. And keep the multiplier at ×1–×2 — an unlucky ×5 run costs you a $50 pack you never planned to buy.
⚠️ What changed in this version
Fire Crystals are gone from the shop. Older guides still list them as the #1 buy — don't follow those. On the flip side, this is exactly why speedups become a conditional buy (see below).
⚙️ Event basics cross-checked
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Duration | 3 days · daily missions reset |
| Event currency | Vivid Jam — from daily missions, spent on every Jam Blob you place |
| Shop currency | Vivid Voucher — from tally rewards, spent at the Shaved Ice Stall |
| How it plays | Place colored Jam Blobs in the correct order on the Slush Station — a Mastermind-style deduction puzzle |
| Feedback | Correct placements get a green underline; a blob dropped on the wrong color is returned automatically (no wasted Jam) |
| Undo | You can pull blobs back until the tally starts — once tally begins it is locked in |
| Reward levels | 30 levels · 1,500 → 6,300 vouchers per level |
| Multiplier | Applied at the special order stage — it scales Jam spent AND vouchers earned at the same time |
Rough progression (external data, treat as a reference): F2P ≈ level 12 · light spender (~$7) ≈ level 18 · $10 ≈ level 22. Varies by server and generation.
🧠 Shop philosophy — Ton's core rule the spine of the video
An event shop serves one of two purposes: ① closing the gap on what you lack most (Ton's default), or ② feeding the line you are actively investing in. The principle is simple — buy what the game does not give you enough of.
🗑️ Always overflowing — skip
- Polishing Solution
- Alloy
- Pet Food · Training Manuals · Energizing Potions
🎯 Always short — spend here
- Reinforcement Serum — Ton's own farm is chronically short
- Design Plans — chief gear
- Charm Designs — especially for F2P
⭐ The one no-exception buy — the daily (hot items)
Buy the daily, every day, spender or not. The pricing is clearly good. Everything else is planning; this one isn't.
One exception on the skip list: if you are pushing red gear, Polishing Solution stops being "overflowing" and becomes your real bottleneck — buy it then.
💰 Priority by spending tier
| Tier | What to buy | Why |
|---|---|---|
| F2P | ① Daily hot items ② Charm Designs ③ Chief Gear Material Chests (or go all-in on chests) | You will hold ~30–40k vouchers — not even enough to empty one line. Don't spread it; dump it where you are short |
| F2P (pushing red gear) | Above + Polishing Solution | On a red gear push it is a genuine bottleneck |
| Low / mid spender | F2P list + more charm materials · Polishing Solution (only if short) | Maxing the event leaves budget over |
| Mid / high spender | + Pet advancement chests · custom pet chests | Only for rally dealers and accounts with a deep pet roster. Gen 5–6 are squeezed on both pets and charms |
| Whale | + speedups (conditional) · clear the top-value lines entirely | See the speedup rule below |
⏩ When speedups are worth it
Speedups are not well priced here. But events like Mia's Fortune hand out Fire Crystals more readily than speedups, and this version of the Ice Shack has no Fire Crystals at all.
→ Worth it only if you are genuinely short on speedups for T11 / T12 training. If you aren't, skip entirely.
📊 Reading the Torxim value chart for this event
| Tier | Item | Call |
|---|---|---|
| 🥇 Top value quantity-capped | Pet advancement custom chest Chief Gear material chest | Purchase cap is around 20 units → no thinking required, just buy them |
| 🥈 Top of the green | Charm Guides Advanced Wild Marks | What Ton is stocking up on this run |
| 🥉 Solid | Pet advancement mats · custom pet chests · pet food | All priced similarly. For rally dealers and pet-heavy accounts |
| ⚖️ Identical pricing | The three chief gear chests Design Plan / Polishing Solution / Alloy | None is cheaper than the others → just pick whichever you lack |
| ⚠️ Poorly priced | Speedups | See the conditional rule above |
🚩 Two things before you trust Torxim
- Set your FC stage and stats in the settings first. Skip that and every displayed value is wrong.
- "High value" ≠ "buy it." Items whose comparison baseline is poor show inflated discounts — the same illusion as the Expert Sigils during Wander Theater.
🎟️ How many vouchers you'll actually get
| Who | Expected vouchers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| F2P | ~28k (Torxim estimate) to 43k (Ton's estimate) | Assumes pushing to the gem milestone. Plan around 30–40k |
| Ton (spender) | ~420–430k | — |
Per Ton, emptying a single line runs ≈500k vouchers, and maxing a category ≈640k. ⚠️ These come from auto-captions, so treat the exact figures loosely — the ratio is the point: an F2P budget buys a fraction of one line.
Enter your spending level on Torxim and it prints your expected voucher total — filling the shop cart against that number is the fastest way to decide.
⚠️ The multiplier (×2 / ×5) — the real point of this video
Raising the multiplier leaves the average cost unchanged but widens the variance.
😀 When you're lucky
- Clearing a level gets much cheaper
- The same budget carries you further
😖 When you're not
- Clearing gets far more expensive
- You buy a pack you never budgeted for
💸 The catch: there is no good "extra" pack to buy
The $20 daily is already in your plan every day, so it can't be the extra. What's left is either a pack you're normally told to skip or the $50 one.
When the event already costs $150–180 to clear, throwing another $50 at below-average luck is not worth it.
| Style | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| I want to hit my budget exactly | ×1 |
| General recommendation | ×1 – ×2 ← Ton caps himself at ×2 |
| Happy to gamble on variance | ×5 — but set aside $20–50 of slack first |
✅ Checklist
- Daily (hot items) first — spender or not, no exceptions
- Open your inventory and check Serum / Design Plans / Charm Designs — whatever is lowest is your answer
- Set your FC stage in Torxim, then read your expected voucher total
- Lock in the two quantity-capped lines (pet advancement custom chest · chief gear material chest)
- Spend what's left on Charm Guides · Advanced Wild Marks
- Keep the multiplier at ×1–×2
- Don't save vouchers hoping for Fire Crystals — they aren't in this version
