Moon Chief (Moonlight Festival) Guide
A 7-day All-of-Chief seasonal event overlapping King of Icefield 100%. Day-by-day scoring calendar, minimum-effort completion route, best training day by FC and tier, and the 8M power T11 trick.
A 7-day All-of-Chief style seasonal event. This run overlaps King of Icefield 100%, which is rare and very efficient. Completion route: half your keys → polars → rest of keys → troops → essence & widgets → gathering → chief gear. Training day: FC8 and below = Day 4 (Thu), FC10 = Day 1 & Day 6 (Mon/Sat). Save your gems for Halloween.
Event overview
The structure is plain All of Chief — the scoring tasks rotate by day. Being a seasonal event, it only carries the skeleton of scoring categories.
Does NOT score: pets · experts · mithril · chief charms · sigils · books of knowledge
Does score: power (construction/research/troops) · speed-ups (expert speed-ups included) · hero shards · keys · polars/beasts · essence stones & widgets · gathering · gems · chief gear
The top reward is the name card — very valuable on rally leads and extremely scarce (roughly 25 per state on competitive servers).
⚠️ Weekday labels in the Discord summary are stale
Ton's Discord training TL;DR says "Day 4 (Saturday)" and "Day 1 (Wednesday)" — those are copy-paste leftovers from a previous run. For this run the real mapping is Day 1 = Mon (9/21) … Day 7 = Sun (9/27), which matches the completion route in the same post (Day 1 Mon ~ Day 7 Sun).

2-day events: Monday = Officer Project II (Hero Shard · Chief Gear · Essence Stone & Widget · Mithril) · Tue–Wed = Defeat Nearby Beasts (Beasts · Polar Terrors)
Where both events score at once
| Day | Overlapping task |
|---|---|
| D1 Mon | Hero Shards (Moon Chief + Officer Project II) |
| D2 Tue | Polar Terrors / Beasts (Moon Chief + Defeat Nearby Beasts) — polars are the better points per stamina |
| D3 Wed | Hero Shards (Moon Chief + KOI) |
| D4 Thu | Troop training (Promote > Train) (Moon Chief + KOI) |
| D5 Fri | Essence Stones & Widgets (Moon Chief + KOI) — mithril does NOT score on Moon Chief |
| D6 Sat | The video says "no overlap", but per the sheet troop training scores on both — Moon Chief (power) + KOI (promote > train) |
| D7 Sun | Chief Gear (Moon Chief + KOI) |
🚫 Construction is the worst points source this week
Power on D1/D6, speed-ups on D3/D7 — either way it is the worst value per resource spent. Avoid it if you can. Training on D1/D6 below FC9 is equally bad.
2. Minimum-effort completion route unlock all daily rewards
Hero shards also score on Officer Project II.
Burn stamina cans. Polars beat beasts for points.
D1 + D3 together is usually enough.
Optimal day at FC8 and below. Overlaps KOI promote > train.
No mithril. Spare your gems.
Troops finishing naturally count here too.
Top up the remainder with speed-ups.
Top-up priority for F2P / low spenders: promote troops → essence stones → a small amount of speed-ups last.
💎 Don't spend gems — bank them for Halloween
Moon Chief only scores gems on Day 5. A month from now Halloween brings the pumpkin smashing event, which takes speed-ups and gems as input and gives gems back. Banking is far better value than burning them here.
3. Pushing for name cards
Late-gen states should consider moving the training state buff to D1 or D6.
Burn all stamina.
NO mithril.
Day 7. Don't force it if you lack materials.
Ton's own state is deep in Gen 12, so effectively everyone is FC10. He proposed moving the training state buff off Thursday onto Day 1 or Day 6. Judge your own state the same way — a slightly lower point value plus state buff and a title often wins on total troops produced.
4. Choosing your training day numbers by FC and tier
Day 1 & Day 6 = power scoring
- 1 power gained = 1 point
- So the power of one troop is the score
- Higher FC makes these days better
Day 4 = per-troop scoring
- Fixed points per troop trained
- Independent of FC — it never grows
- Which is why low FC strongly prefers Day 4
Day 4 fixed points (FC-independent)
| Tier | T7 | T8 | T9 | T10 | T11 | T12 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Points / troop | 50 | 68 | 90 | 118 | 140 | 170 |
Day 1 & Day 6 — power per troop
| FC | T7 | T8 | T9 | T10 | T11 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FC0 | 28 | 38 | 50 | 66 | — |
| FC1 | 30 | 41 | 54 | 71 | — |
| FC2 | 32 | 44 | 58 | 76 | — |
| FC3 | 34 | 47 | 62 | 83 | — |
| FC4 | 37 | 51 | 67 | 88 | — |
| FC5 | 40 | 54 | 72 | 94 | 114 |
| FC6 | 43 | 57 | 77 | 99 | 120 |
| FC7 | 46 | 60 | 82 | 104 | 126 |
| FC8 | 49 | 63 | 87 | 110 | 135 |
| FC9 | 51 | 66 | 91 | 115 | 141 |
| FC10 | 54 | 69 | 95 | 121 | 148 |
T12 = 178 (FC10), against 170 on Day 4 → +4.7%.
Verdict — best training day by main tier
| Main tier | FC8 and below | FC9 | FC10 |
|---|---|---|---|
| T10 | Day 4 118 vs 110 | Day 4 118 vs 115 | Day 1 & 6 121 vs 118 (+2.5%) |
| T11 | Day 4 140 vs 135 | a wash 141 vs 140 (+0.7%) | Day 1 & 6 148 vs 140 (+5.7%) |
| T12 | — | — | Day 1 & 6 178 vs 170 (+4.7%) |
✅ The rule
- FC0–FC8 → always Day 4 (Thu)
- FC9 → basically a wash. T11/T9 slightly favour D1/D6, T10/T8 favour D4. Differences around 1%
- FC10 → Day 1 & Day 6. Nearly 5% on T11/T12
⚠️ Don't be black and white
- FC8 but your state pops the training buff on Monday? The 3.6% point gap is smaller than the extra troops the buff produces
- The sheet's green cells are "best on points alone"
- The real answer = points + state buff + title + overlaps
5. The 8M power T11 research trick
All-of-Chief style events also score power gained. One T11 research ≈ 8 million power — the single biggest block of points available this week.
| Situation | What to do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Finishes after Sat 9/26 | Pour speed-ups on Wednesday (D3) to bring the remainder to around 72 hours | Wednesday speed-up points + Saturday 8M power points |
| Finishes Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri (no scoring) | Finish it outright on Monday (D1) with speed-ups | Monday power points + KOI Monday speed-up points |
| No planning at all | Completes on a non-scoring day | 8M power thrown away |
⏱ Leave margin
Don't aim for exactly 72 hours — leave 80–86 hours, or even 120 before the final speed-up push. People mess this up every run and dump 8M power on a day that scores nothing. If you plan to finish near reset, set an alarm.
6. Traps and exceptions
You can skip Day 7 chief gear
Early/mid-gen accounts (Gen5–8, especially farms) need 3–4 chief gear upgrades to complete Day 7, and often simply don't have the materials. Forcing it with speed-ups is terrible value per speed-up spent.
If you can't manage 2–3 upgrades and don't want to finish with speed-ups, just skip the day. Missing one day is not the end of the world.
🚫 Don't feed mithril
- Day 5 essence/widgets score on both events
- But mithril only scores on KOI
- While pushing Moon Chief it only pays once
✅ KOI completes comfortably
- Everything Moon Chief ignores (pets, experts, mithril, charms) is in KOI
- If polars covered Moon Chief on D2, fill KOI with experts, pets and charms
- Split resources that don't overlap — that's the whole trick
7. Playing while holding your state back when you don't want to be leading
✅ Safe to push
- Keys (hero shards)
- Stamina → polar terrors / beasts
- Troop training — troop count isn't weighted like real power
- Gems · gathering
- Essence stones only in the low range (1–10) on 2nd/3rd gear sets
🚫 Avoid
- Essence stone 15–20 big upgrades
- Unnecessary research / construction power spikes
Appendix. Mysteries of Numbers provisional
⚠️ The odds and coin values below are estimates
They come from the April 2026 "Easter Egg Matrix" run. Ton explicitly flagged that the odds and the shop may have changed this time and said he would update after checking it live.
Official rules (Sneak Peek)
1. Each round generates a 25-number matrix drawn randomly from 1 to 50.
2. Release a Lantern of Blessings to draw one number (no repeats within a round). If it's on the matrix, that tile lights up.
3. Each completed horizontal or vertical line = a Path Reward.
4. 3 Path Rewards = the round's Grand Prize.
Lantern of Blessings — the draw currency; converts to a 10K Secured Resource Supply Chest at event end. Plenilune Badge — the Moonlit Market currency; converts to 1K Meat on expiry. The market runs until 9/28, so spend before it closes.
🚫 Lantern income is limited
You cannot convert speed-ups, gems, beasts or gathering into lanterns. They only come from other events, missions and packs → this is not as good as a smashing-style seasonal event.
How to play: clear the whole board
| Strategy | Lanterns / board | Common | Centennial | Millennial | Coins / board | Coins / lantern |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Refresh after 3 lines | 38.8 | 91.92% | 7.70% | 0.39% | 243.88 | 6.29 |
| Full board (all rows & columns) | 49.04 | 81.70% | 16.34% | 1.96% | 570.48 | 11.63 |
Full boards are about 1.85× better per lantern. The 3-line refresh strategy is clearly worse. Coin values are Gen 7 / FC8 rewards and vary with your gen and FC.
Lantern income (7-day totals, from the sheet)
| Source | Radiant points | Gift boxes (lanterns) |
|---|---|---|
| Daily missions (F2P) | 800/day → 5,600 | 18/day → 126 |
| Daily missions ×2 ($5 Color Inspiration) | 1,600/day → 11,200 | 36/day → 252 |
| Tier rewards | — | 30/day → 210 |
| Symphony of Radiance | — | F2P 84 / P2W 162 |
| F2P total | — | 450 |
| $5 P2W total | — | 714 (+264 = 52.8/$) |
| $25 (Radiant Gallery $5+$20) | — | 1,014 (+564 = 22.56/$) |
Daily missions: login 200pt/6 boxes · 10 beasts 100/6 · 2 epic keys 100/0 · 5 intel missions 100/0 · 30k troop power 100/0 · 1,000m speed-ups 200/6
→ "You can't get boxes from speed-ups" means there's no speed-up-to-lantern conversion; the daily 1,000-minute speed-up mission still pays 6 boxes.
Pack value (resets daily)
| Price | Gift boxes | Boxes / $ |
|---|---|---|
| $1 | 15 | 15.0 |
| $2.5 | 30 | 12.0 |
| $5 | 50 | 10.0 |

| $20 | 160 | 8.0 |
| $50 | 360 | 7.2 |
| $100 | 650 | 6.5 |
Smaller packs are the better rate. Buying all of them every day is $388.50 for 2,655 boxes over the week.
Milestones (lines cleared) — who reaches what
